Paint The Town Red: Jeans Boots and BBQ

Thursday night I was able to attend Paint The Town Red at Robinson Center with my good friend, Dave Elswick, who was also the Master of Ceremonies for the night. Dave is also the Program Director and afternoon talk show host from 2:00-6:00 on KARN 102.9FM. We all had a wonderful time, and I was able to capture some really great photos.

Paint The Town Red was held by The Republican Party of Arkansas to honor our newly elected Republican legislators and constitutional officers including, Lt. Governor Mark Darr, Secretary of Sate Mark Martin, and Land Commissioner John Thurston.

Kids Say The Darndest Things!!

My kids crack me up all the time, but today was quite priceless! I carry a huge purse. I have a lot going on all the time, and everything ends up being thrown in this colossal size bag. Once or twice a year I finally break down, clean it out, and switch to a new purse that is also huge, but oh what a dreaded chore! I can always figure out something better to do than this! Ugh! At this time, my current purse is wayyyyyy over due for a cleaning and replacing; it is an absolute mess! So not only is this purse huge, but it's also heavy! Very heavy! So heavy that it's hard to even pick up, much less carry. So every time I say something about my purse being heavy, some smarty in my house decides to say something along the lines of, "Why don't you clean it out then!" I usually just ignore them, or tell them to be nice and clean it out for me. Well, today we were in Wal-Mart with my husband, Brian, and my two sons, Dallas and Kolton. I made the mistake of complaining how heavy my purse was, and my youngest, Kolton, piped up and said, "Then why don't you clean it out?" I replied back, "Okay! I will take all 7 of my guns out of my purse, and all 7 of my wallets out, leave all the trash and other crap, and maybe it won't be so heavy anymore!" He looks at me, and says, "You have 7 wallets?" I died laughing! He was amazed by the wallets, but guns didn't surprise him in the least! I love that kid!

My Thigh High! Not Yours!

So the other day I had a boudoir session. I walk into my clients kitchen, and the cutest little puppy named Cody meets me at the door. He was sooooooo cute! I spent about 15 minutes playing with him. He was absolutely adorable! Soon it was time to get to work setting up lights, props, etc. Of course, Cody had to be right in the middle of everything! Especially when we started pulling out all the lingerie that my client was going to wear for her session. He especially took a liking to the thigh highs, as you can tell by the photos below. Too cute not to share!

My client ended up having to put him in his kennel. We just couldn't keep him away from the thigh highs!

First Winter Storm of 2011

Today was an awesome Monday! No work for Brian & me! And no school for the kids! A*W*E*S*O*M*E! There is nothing better than waking up in the morning to a white winter wonderland! Absolutely beautiful! The first most awesome thing that happened this morning is my amazing husband made breakfast! I woke up, came into the kitchen, and he was frying bacon...mmmmmmm.....bacon! Love it! He was trying to surprise me with breakfast in bed, but I woke up too early. He is sooooo sweet! After breakfast we got dressed, and headed out to do my most favorite thing ever! Can you guess what that is? Of course you can! Take pictures! First, we went to a pond that is here in our subdivision. There is several creeks around it that are great for photographing.

Once my toes were completely frozen it was time to jump in the "Diesel Jet Engine" (my pet name for my hubby's truck), and head out to a new location. First, we had to stop at Sonic for one of their Spiced Hot Chocolates...yummmmmmyyyy!!! The elementary school in our town has an awesome nature trail that is also great for taking photos. It's actually one of mine and Dallas's favorite places to get some lens action. When Brian and I first got there we noticed some tracks made by what we thought was a rabbit.

The tracks followed the trail so we made our way. After walking a few minutes we noticed the tracks became a lot of prints in the snow mixed with a tiny bit of blood.

Evidently, whatever we were following was no bunny because after this the tracks kept going....and so did we. We never ended up seeing what it was, but it was still cool.

After leaving the nature trail is was time to go see my very best friend in the whole wide world! If you know me, then you would know that would be the beautiful Casey. We had a great time playing with the kids and taking pictures. Well, she mostly played with the kids, and I took all the pictures! She bundled Tristan and Elaina (we call her Nina) up in no less than 27 layers of clothes, and we headed out to make sure my toes got cold enough to actually fall off! Oh how I hate cold toes!! But fun it was, and I got great pics of the kiddos!

Casey trying to pull the kids in the 50000000 pound sled her hubby James made....okay...it's not really that heavy, but to us girls it was!

After that eventful day, I was ready for a nap!! I was sooooo tired! Of course, I got home and forgot I was sleepy because I couldn't wait to edit the pictures I took today!

Ooooooklahoma! (you must sing it to appreciate the title) :)

The day after Christmas I was able to take a trip to Tulsa to see my best friend since 10th grade! I was so excited that I got up at 3 AM, drank enough coffee to fill the Arkansas River, and then headed out with the pedal to the metal! We might get to see each other twice a year so I couldn't wait to get there! It took us about 4 hours...well, it would have taken less, but my fearless navigator, Dallas, isn't so good at writing down the right street names, but we did eventually make it to Johnson Manor. We managed to arrive early enough that Jennifer and I had the whole day to gab and gossip. Dallas spent most of the day trying to help Matt kill zombies on the PS3. That afternoon we went and saw my second parents - Jennifer's parents; it was so great seeing them, and of course they asked me if I drove safe and if we wore our seat belts...lol!

The next day we all got up at the crack of noon...well, except Matt...he had to go to work. So we decided to head out to the mall, but first it was lunch at The Cheesecake Factory...yummmmmmm!!!!!! After lunch it was shop until we dropped, and in my case, shop until you lose your phone, and then buy a new one because the old one obviously hates you! But I did get an awesome zebra print case for the new phone! Sexy!!! So that made it all better!

Tuesday was awesome too! We again got up at the crack of noon...I didn't even know I could sleep that late especially 2 days in a row! Jenn and I finally got out of the house around 3:00. We went and ran some errands, ate some really yummy sushi, did a little more shopping, and then headed back home. We stayed up until almost 4 in the morning talking. I learned a lot about myself while I was there. I can sleep really late, and I can talk...a lot...well, Jenn did most of the talking! LOL!

Wednesday we spent the majority of the day recovering from being up so late the night before. Late that afternoon I met up with a client to take some Boudoir photos for her hubby for Valentine's Day. They came out great, and I know he is going to LOVE them!!

Thursday it was the dreaded day to come home. I missed home, but I didn't want to leave. Being able to spend time with Jenn, Matt, Timothy, and Taylor is something I never can get enough of. I so wish they lived closer so we could see each other more. Plus, Thursday ended up being the worst day of 2010! I had to leave my best friend. Once I left, I drove 50 blocks and realized I forgot my planner so I had to turn around and go back. Once we got back on the road again we stopped at a gas station to get drinks, and once we got back out on the road I realized we were almost out of gas. So then we had to stop again! To top it off, traffic was HORRIBLE!! Once we did get on the Muskogee Turnpike I had to stop TWICE so Dallas could go pee and the last time I stopped we couldn't get back on the highway so we ended up driving 10 miles on dirt roads....I was livid by this time as you can probably imagine. And to top off the day and 2010....drum roll please.....I got a speeding ticket...boo! Thank you ASP! Love ya! Mean it!
